A Cage of Every Filthy Bird and Every Unclean Spirit: A United Nations of Religions

In a recent meeting between former Israeli president, Shimon Peres, and the ecumenical Pope Francis, a great fulfillment of prophecy has begun to take force. It is no surprise that after every world war, there are massive peace initiatives made that tend to bring the inhabitants of the earth further from the horrors that occurred in the dark ages, and to the horrors and atrocities of wars. The pope that has the world mesmerized has, according to BBC News, said the following:

“Even today, after the second failure of another world war, perhaps one can speak of a third war, one fought piecemeal, with crimes, massacres, destruction,” he said.

This he said in reaction to the religious conflict that is raging in the middle east.  At the same time, the meeting with Peres and the Papacy took place. What was said at that time will show itself to be, at least, the spirit of the time, and at most, a great advance towards the papacy’s revival of persecution.

In the meeting, Shimon Peres, having newly retired from the presidency of Israel, is pursuing a new project. Peres, who has said that he believes that this new pope represents “a continent which is now awakening” said the following to the Pope:

“The U.N. has had its day,” Peres said. “What we need is an organization of religions, a United Nations of religions. It would be the best way to fight these terrorist who kill in the name of faith, because the majority of people are not like them, practice their religion without killing anyone, even without thinking about it.”

Regarding the proposal, Fox News reported that “Francis promised the Vatican’s attention to the proposal.”

The concept appears to be innocent at a quick glance, however, Christ has clearly said that Christians are not to be involved in any such thing. Religious freedom is a clear and well-defined principle of the gospel. Even when Christ was put to death by His own, which “received Him not”, He went as a lamb to the slaughter. When His disciples desired to call down fire from heaven to destroy those who wouldn’t receive Jesus. Hear Jesus words:

“For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.” Luke 9:56

Hear also the language used by Peres: “The United Nations has had it’s day…” Thus comparing the goals of the United Nations to the goals of this United Nations of Religions. When the United Nations was established, it was to secure the protection of each nations individuality, save those who war against the member nations. The declaration of the UN is as follows:

“(1) Each Government pledges itself to employ its full resources, military or economic, against those members of the Tripartite Pact and its adherents with which such government is at war.
(2) Each Government pledges itself to cooperate with the Governments signatory hereto and not to make a separate armistice or peace with the enemies.”

If a united religious body was to bring it’s full consensus against religious groups that differed from said body, under a defacto religious unity that brings the influence of the Papacy to a greater measure of the much boasted “moral authority” over the deceived nations. Francis has not shied away from declaring how he regards the extremism of Islamist terrorists as dangerous as fundamental Christians who believe the Bible literally.

“There are these small (radical or terrorist) groups,” the pontiff stated. “It would be a good thing if all Muslim leaders, whether they be political or religious leaders, say clearly that they condemn that because this would help the majority of the Muslim people to say no.”

Francis asserted that it is wrong to consider Islam a terrorist religion, and compared it to considering all Christians to be “fundamentalists.”

“Sincerely, I think we can’t say that all Muslims are terrorists,” he stated.

“You just can’t say that, just as you can’t say that all Christians are fundamentalists,” the pontiff continued. “We have our share of them (fundamentalists). All religions have these little groups.”

That being said, what does prophecy say about this movement to usher in a united religious movement?

In the Great Controversy, we read of just such a movement:

“The line of distinction between professed Christians and the ungodly is now hardly distinguishable. Church members love what the world loves and are ready to join with them, and Satan determines to unite them in one body and thus strengthen his cause by sweeping all into the ranks of spiritualism. Papists, who boast of miracles as a certain sign of the true church, will be readily deceived by this wonder-working power; and Protestants, having cast away the shield of truth, will also be deluded. Papists, Protestants, and worldlings will alike accept the form of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium.

Through spiritualism, Satan appears as a benefactor of the race, healing the diseases of the people, and professing to present a new and more exalted system of religious faith; but at the same time he works as a destroyer. His temptations are leading multitudes to ruin. Intemperance dethrones reason; sensual indulgence, strife, and bloodshed follow. Satan delights in war, for it excites the worst passions of the soul and then sweeps into eternity its victims steeped in vice and blood. It is his object to incite the nations to war against one another, for he can thus divert the minds of the people from the work of preparation to stand in the day of God. {GC 589.1}” GC, pg. 589

Satan’s new and more exalted system of religious faith, uniting in one body those bound up in his deceptions, is nothing less than “spiritualism”. In spiritualism, the deception is generally presented as being able to partake of the blessings of life, without any obligation to obey God’s requirements. For instance, you can have health, and wholeness, but also eat pork, and refined sugars, and smoke cigarettes.

The Bible warns us about when Israel apostasized, and mingled with the heathen, warning us of the dangers of uniting with them in any manner:

“But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.” Psalm 106:35-36

It was a snare to them to come to close to the heathen, that they joined with them in worship; the warning given to those that “pleased themselves in the children of strangers”:

“Therefore Thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob… they please themselves in the children of strangers.” Isaiah 2:6

“Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth😉 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” (Eph. 5:6-11)

The Bible is clear not to be joined with “the children of disobedience”, not partaking in the wrath of God, but God has “made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light” (Col. 1:12). Part of this promise, included partaking of the divine nature, which includes the fruit of the Spirit. This fruit, as we just read, is found in truth, but where the deceptions of spiritualism are, there is darkness, and unfruitfulness, and wrath. How can we possibly join with them?

“Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” 1 Cor. 6:15-17

We are not to join ourselves to become part of the body of a harlot, but the Catholic church is a system of great apostasy, which has sold the truth for lies and temporal power; no true Christian can partake of her, without consenting to her sins. Furthermore, we read:

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” 2 Cor. 6:14-18

These are the councils that we read in the Bible, not to join with them, and not to be partakers with them, or consenting with them in their deeds. The prophesied United Nations of Religions would be doing exactly this. We cannot join ourselves with the great harlot of Revelation, and keep the favor of God, because she openly disobeys the gospel, not obeying the truth, but seduce all to walk in disobedience to God’s laws. A call to repentance is to be given by the Elijahs of today, calling men to remember God’s law, and set before them the blood of the new covenant, inviting them to be purified by hearkening to the Word of God, while calling them out of this unlawful union with the harlot, who has ensnared nearly the whole world in her cage of false unity:

“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers (Grk: participate/fellowship) of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”

Fearful are the results of this great harlot’s cup of communion, we are told that she is burnt with fire. Of this woman of desolation and bondage, we are given a glimpse at the contrast between God’s precious bride and her children, and the unfaithful harlot, and her children in the words that our God consoles His bride, His Jerusalem, saying:

“more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD….And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Behold, they shall surely gather together (the children of the desolate), but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. (Isaiah 54:1,13-16)

Another illustation of this union and it’s judgment is given:

“So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” Matthew 13:27-30

This is the great prophetic movement, where the wheat and the tares are separated: the time of the harvest, which is the time of the latter rain, as well as the time of the plagues! (Zech. 14)

For those who are bound in that bundle, it is for the appointed judgment. We read that here:

“And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.” Leviticus 21:9

“And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.” Rev. 17:16

“COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE!”
