The Bible tells us of a worldwide power that will extend it’s authority over the king’s of the earth. It’s name is “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” And she holds a cup in her hand, which are “full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.” (Rev. 17:4-5) The Bible depicts Babylon as the mother of both harlots, and the abominations of the earth. What are the “abominations of the earth”? They are the heathen gods and their rites of worship, such as “Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians“, “Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites”, and “Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.”

The fact that it is called Babylon holds deep significance which we want to uncover, and understand in the days in which we are living. The first use of Babylon in the Scriptures speaks of “the whole earth” as “of one language, and of one speech.” (Genesis 11:1) The Scripture then tells us that they would build a great unified system of religion. “And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:4)

SCATTERING THE REBELLION

Why did these men fear to be scattered? They knew the God of heaven had a perfect law, but the world was unified in rebellion against His law. And for the sake of preserving His people and truth upon the earth, He scatters and divides the power of the transgressors of His law. “If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, YEHOVAH THY GOD;…the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.” (Deuteronomy 28:64) Babylon was a unified center of rebellion against the law of the kingdom of heaven.
Yet God did scatter the people by confusing their tongues. “And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.” (Genesis 11:6-8)

THE TRIAD OF HEATHEN DEITIES
This was the beginning of the name Babylon; when the Most High divided the tongues into the earliest forms of the manifold languages witnessed on the earth today. By this, the Lord scattered the people so they could not understand one another; thus causing disunity. “Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.” Babylon truly is “the mother” of the “abominations of the earth”, because from Babylon came all the heathen gods.
One of the most notable things commonly witnessed in these religions is their connection to both sun, moon, and star worship, as well as holding to a triad of divinities. “There were triads of gods, and among their divinities were those representing various forces of nature and ones that exercised special influence in certain activities of mankind. (Babylonian and Assyrian Religion, Norman, Okla.; 1963, S. H. Hooke, pp. 14-40)
“A hymn of Assurbanipal addresses Marduk as carrying the identity of the three highest gods as personal properties: ‘You hold the Anu-ship, the Enlil-ship, the Ea-ship.’” (Religions of the Ancient World, p 26, Sarah Iles Johnston,  2004)
It is little surprise that we see so many religions with a Trinity of divine beings today; yet under the banner of many religions who found their descent from the scattering of the one world religion at the Tower of Babel. The tokens of Babylonian sun-worshipping apostasy are still alive today, and their idols have found entrance into mainstream Christianity today.

BABYLON NEVER TO BE REBUILT

When identifying Babylon, we know that Revelation is “signified” (Rev. 1:1), meaning that it is given in symbolic language. More than this, more than 800 years prior, we were told that ancient Babylon was never going to be rebuilt after it was destroyed. “And Babylon, the glory of the kingdoms…will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It will never be inhabited, nor will it be settled from generation to generation; nor will the Arabian pitch tents there, nor will the shepherds make their sheepfolds there” (Isaiah 13:17-20).
Yet the spirit of Babylon is found in every vestige of rebellion, and every attempt to heal the divisions which occurred when Babylon was scattered. Satan would resurrect a unified one-world system of rebellion against the law of God again to forefront. Prophecy says spiritual Babylon will live, resurrected from the ashes of ancient Babylon in purpose, and make “fornication with the kings of the earth”. And spiritual Babylon is responsible for the blood of Christ’s followers being shed: “And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.” (Rev. 17:6)

A HARLOT WOMAN

Yet Babylon in the Bible is represented as both a woman, and a harlot woman, who leagues with the state powers of the earth. What is signified in a woman according to Bible prophecy? It is a church. “I’ve likened Zion unto a comely and delicate woman…”, and God says about the apostasy of His people, who turn after other gods “thou hadst a harlot’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.” (Jeremiah 3:3)
This woman represents an unfaithful apostate church, exercising power over the state, and adheres to the tenets of the ancient sun-worship of Babylon. She seeks to bring under it’s system all the abominations of the false religions, as well as her daughter’ harlot churches, into her lawless rebellion against the Most High.

Is there such a church which would be of such prominence in the world today? ” Wise pastoral intuition suggested to the Church the
christianization of the notion of Sunday as “the day of the sun”, which was the Roman name for the day and which is retained in some
modern languages.(29) This was in order to draw the faithful away from the seduction of cults which worshipped the sun, and to direct the
celebration of the day to Christ, humanity’s true “sun”.” (Pope John Paul II, Dies Domini, II:28-29)

“The use of temples, and these dedicated to particular saints, and ornamented on occasions with branches of trees; incense, lamps, and candles; votive offerings on recovery from illness; holy water; asylums; holydays and seasons, use of calendars, processions, blessings on the fields; sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure, the ring in marriage, turning to the East, images at a later date, perhaps the ecclesiastical chant, and the Kyrie Eleison are all of pagan origin, and sanctified by their adoption into the Church.” (An Essay on The Development of the Christian Doctrine John Henry ‘Cardinal Newman’ p.373)

It is pagan tradition, and not Scripture alone which has Catholicism inseparably bound to a Babylon heritage. “”Thus it comes about that the [Catholic] Church does not draw her certainty about all revealed truths from the Holy Scriptures alone. Hence, both Scripture and Tradition must be accepted and honored with equal feelings of devotion and reverence…” (Austin Flannery, Vatican Council II: The Conciliar and Post Conciliar Documents, 1988, p. 755)

BABYLON REVIVED

There can be no doubt that Catholicism, in order to bring it’s professed adherents away from outright paganism, adopted a Christianized-form of ancient pagan sun worship. Does Catholicism’s system seek to embrace the pagan abominations and the “daughter” harlot churches? Yes. Pope Francis would heal the wounds of division by calling for a “common witness” amongst the religious leaders. When appealing for a “common witness”, Francis told the Supreme “Sangha” Council of Buddhist monks of Myanmar “the wounds of conflict, poverty and oppression persist, and create new divisions…In the face of these challenges, we must never grow resigned,”. When meeting with the Council, he took his shoes from off of his feet at their holy site, and quoted from a sacred Buddhist text. He then appeals for this large group of Buddhists to shun every form of extremism and terrorism, and to unite in common cause with Catholicism. “If we are to be united, as is our purpose, we need to surmount all forms of misunderstanding, intolerance, prejudice and hatred…We firmly believe that terrorism and extremism arise from bad interpretations of the original teachings of their religions, because some followers introduce amendments to the original teachings under the thrust of their own desires, instincts, fears and disappointments…”

Yes, it is real.

Does this sound like upholding the teachings of the law and the prophets of Bible Scripture? It is rather an endorsement to unite their large religions under the even larger Catholic banner. It is confusion, Babylon, a speaking of different faiths and religions uniting together in building a tower of rebellion against the God of heaven. Francis hailed the meeting as “an important occasion to renew and strengthen the bonds of friendship and respect between Buddhists and Catholics” But the apostle James rebukes this course of action, calling the Pope an enemy of God. “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4)

PLEASANT TO THE EYES: COMMON PURPOSE

“Pope Francis and the Anglican archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, were joined Tuesday by the Hindu guru Mata Amritanandamayi, known as Amma, as well as Buddhist, Jewish and Shiite and Sunni Muslim representatives for a signing ceremony of a joint declaration against modern slavery.” (Associated Press, “Pope’s anti-slavery initiative gets new support from Hindu, Buddhist, Jews and Muslims,” FOX News, Dec 2, 2014) The fruit of this unity may seem pleasant to the eyes of many, but in it is the unvariable venom of that old serpent, the devil and Satan. It is confusion. The history of the old tower of Babel is repeated in these joint declarations, under the guise of a seemingly benevolent cause. And by this, Satan is gathering his armies. “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” (Revelation 16:13-14) This event is the religious equivalent of the new world order.

More than this, during a 9/11 Interfaith prayer service, Pope Francis gathered and prayed with the religious leaders of many different religions for world peace. Yet Christ clearly warned, ” Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division.” Fidelity to truth and fear of God will divide from the transgressors of God’s law. Yet it is the very event of 9/11, the falling of the modern-day towers of Babel, the world trade centers, which are leading the world on to the war on Islamic terrorism, but is serving as the unifying factor for Babylon to develop. “And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart, The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars….” (Isaiah 9:9-10) What was built in the place of the twin towers? A one world trade center. In like manner, this event leads to the unifying of divided Babylon against terrorism, and what is termed “extremism”, which is what the faith of God’s dear waiting saints shall be labelled under. Many will be put to death under the claims of sedition, heresy, troublers of the people, and disturbers of the peace.

But God will scatter and destroy Babylon again, and it will not be rebuilt. “And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.” (Revelation 16:19)

“And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird…And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:2)
